We have received numerous e-mails about Ruby Dhallas Private Members Bill, Bill C-428, an Act to Amend Old Age Security. There seems to be some misinformation about this Act that has provoked a backlash. It is very rare for Private Members Bills to be passed in Parliament and this one is no exception. Nevertheless, we have written to all the parties to request their statement on the issue.

There remain aspects of the proposed legislation that are unclear and we intend to get the answers for you, CARP issued an open letter to Ruby Dhallas office requesting clarification on a few issue. We will report back to you when our letter is answered.
