93-year-old Ida Herbert leads a Tuesday yoga class at the Orillia, Ontario YMCA and another on Wednesday at the Bayshore Village rec centre where her students calls themselves “Ida’s Girls”.

Described as charming, graceful, and perky. Ida owns a Mustang, rides her bike, volunteers in the community gardens and as her nominator and yoga student Gail Carter writes, “Ida makes a mockery of aging.” She is one determined woman who wishes to encourage others regarding the benefits of exercise, stretching and a healthy lifestyle – a true representation of CARP’s New Vision of Aging.
