Celebrate National Seniors Day, October 1st, CARP Flag Raising at Toronto City Hall

Toronto City Council – General Invitation – Information

Please join us!

On behalf of CARP President, Moses Znaimer and The Toronto Chapters of CARP (Etobicoke, Scarborough, North York and Downtown) (representing over 40,000 CARP Members in Toronto) you are invited to help us commemorate National Seniors Day in Canada with the raising of our Association’s flag at Toronto City Hall:

Monday October 1st,

12 PM NOON

(Podium Roof Flagpole)

The October 1st date was selected to raise awareness of CARP’s contributions to our community and participate in the newly recognized National Seniors Day, instituted by the Federal Government in 2011, “Celebrating the continuing contribution of Canada’s seniors.”

On that same date, CARP will replicate this flag-raising across our network of CARP’s community-based Chapters, from St. John’s in Newfoundland and Labrador, to Victoria, British Columbia.

Toronto will be the epicenter of our events, with media coverage on ZoomerMedia, including the Toronto radio stations Classical 96.3 FM and AM 740 Zoomer Radio, the Toronto-based national television station, VisionTV, and of course, Zoomer Magazine.

CARP is inviting Toronto Councillors, local dignitaries, our partners in the community, CARP Executive and General Members of the Association to participate in the flag-raising.

CARP President, Moses Znaimer and Vice President of Advocacy, Susan Eng will be on hand to speak and answer members questions.

Please join us on October 1st at Noon, to celebrate the contribution aging Canadians continue to make in the life of Torontonians.

CARP is a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization with over 300,000 members, committed to a ‘New Vision of Aging for Canada’, promoting social change that will bring financial security, equitable access to health care and freedom from discrimination. Our mandate is to promote and protect the interests, rights and quality of life for Canadians as we age.
