Letter: CARP Welcomes Minister Jason Kenney to the Ministry and Presents Older Worker Recommendations

CARP has recently sent a letter to Minister Jason Kenney, to congratulate him on his new  appointment and discuss the topic of older workers.  He is the newly minted Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Multiculturalism.  CARP welcomed him to the Ministry and took the opportunity to present him with some of the recommendations we had previously made at the last sitting of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (HUMA).

CARP presented its recommendations, many of which we echoed by the recent National Seniors’ Council Report on older workers, which we reviewed and analyzed this week.   We also presented the findings of the survey we co-sponsored, the resulting report, Second Wind: The Evolving Nature of Retirement is available here as well.
