Habitat for Humanity: FIRST EVER INTERGENERATIONAL BUILD

by Trudi Johnston

We have an amazing opportunity for you to get involved and support your local community through Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is teaming up with seniors and youth to have a build in Scarborough in the Lawrence and Brimley area.

This build will have its launch in the fall, with the seniors build actually taking place in the spring of 2015. We will also be working with some high schools on this build- Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate Institute and Upper Canada College. Our goal is to raise $100,000, as well as creating an opportunity for seniors to work with youth and build together.

You dont need to have building experience, but if you do have a specific trade, that would be awesome !!!! The construction team will determine what work needs to be done at the time of our build.
NOW-This is what we need you to do.

Do you have a teen or a grandchild (over 16yrs) you would love to build with? Perhaps this teen is looking to complete their community hours. Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer with this great organization? We would like each team to raise $500 towards the event if possible, so that would give you about 6 to 7 months before the event to raise the money. We are looking for at least 10 to 20 teams.

We will let you know the exact dates as soon as we get final confirmation. If you are interested please send an email to [email protected]..
