Chair’s Comments – November 2015

Its always a pleasure to report monthly Chapter Meetings Guest Presenters Local Partners & Community activities. Certainly keeps our Volunteers quite busy & active. This CC pleased to provide some recent CARP results.

Early CARP National surveys indicated the eventual 2015 Federal Elections winner … though not by the majority result but certainly reflecting our collective desire for change. Though ‘ 2011 Consensus Canada’ latest stats available I’m convinced time will show Senior’s, you ladies & gentlemen, with early & increased voting activity was significant to the political change.

Attending the 2015 CARP National AGM I report the Arthritis Society & CARP have united forces. Welcome aboard. Affinity status for Esso is complete & we await the next delivery batch of Esso cards. Susan Eng confirmed Executive Director of CARP. Congratulations. Spoke with many of you at the Toronto ZOOMER Show. … we are everywhere … send us your CARP travel photos – I’ll forward to ZOOMER Mag (:

Locally our early involvement in the October 50+ Lifestyle Expo at the Western Fair ( casino building ) was both a wonderful afternoon & met with 17 New Members for the day. Chapter record. Needed extra Display chairs. Happily many a stocking stuffer now attended to. HoHoHo.
Our Committee search has lead us to two Chapter Members considering the Vice Chair position .. Dave Mcmilllan & Pat Mauro. Please say hello to these fine fellows at the Nov 19 2015 Chapter Meeting. Welcoming to our London – St. Thomas Executive Committee Larry Root, Secretary & Doug Daye (systems).

To conclude our results, we present Nov 19 Guest Presenters Darren Robbins ‘Health Care Self Mgt’ & Steve Sauder ‘Upper Thames Valley Conservation Authority’ with Local Partners ‘Sherwood Travel’ & ‘Costco’ to share their expertise with us. See further EBlast details for Bio’s etc.

Closing CC for 2015.. I wish all our Affinity Partners Local Partners & you our Member a happy healthy remaining 2015.
