About Français

TOGETHER, WE CAN BUILD A CANADA THAT VALUES AND SUPPORTS ITS SENIORS.

The Canadian Association of Retired Persons - CARP advocates for financial security and better access to healthcare for older adults, and leads the fight to end ageism.

CARP is a non-partisan, non-profit association of hundreds of thousands of members, with a community of local chapters from coast to coast representing Canada’s most powerful generation – engaged citizens who believe in action and aren't shy about exercising influence on public policy.

Membership in CARP comes with valuable benefits, including access to educational and informative webinars and newsletters, and the opportunity to volunteer with a local chapter and participate in social events.

CARP.ca serves as the association's digital hub, offering a wealth of resources and opportunities designed to empower and inform its members. The website allows members to amplify their voices through online petitions and polls, actively contributing to CARP's advocacy efforts to combat ageism. And thanks to CARP approved and recommended partners, members receive discounts on a wide range of products and services – benefits that enhance the value of membership and provide practical assistance to older adults in managing their finances.

CARP membership support creates major changes in government policies and protects the dignity of Canadians as we age. Members are also rewarded with discounts on over 100 everyday products and services they know and love from CARP’s trusted partners.

“Federal and provincial governments need to hear from Canadians on policies and legislation that sooner or later affect us all. CARP ensures that older Canadians’ voices are heard in Parliament and that vital political promises are made and kept.” - Moses Znaimer, Chairman of the Board

About CARP Chapters

Local Chapters of the Canadian Association of Retired Canadians provide members the opportunity to actively participate in CARP’s mission at the grassroots level. From coast to coast, they serve as the eyes and ears of their communities, identifying local and regional issues, and ensuring that the development of CARP’s advocacy policies are informed by the needs of its members.

Chapters operate independently with volunteer boards that engage their communities to promote awareness of CARP and its goals, with funding and support from the CARP’s National office. Chapters are responsible for developing programs, organizing social activities, recruiting new members, and promoting local and national advocacy initiatives.

CARP’s network of local Chapters across the country provides a friendly venue for like-minded people to meet, share ideas and experiences, and contribute to their communities by helping to lead the fight to end ageism.

How is CARP funded?

CARP, a nonprofit organization, operates independently of government funding for its advocacy mission. Instead, it relies on revenue generated from membership fees and contributions from educational partnerships to support its advocacy efforts. CARP has formed distinctive partnerships with ZoomerMedia Limited. Through ZoomerMedia, CARP gains access to a powerful network of television, radio, print, and internet media platforms that no other advocacy group in the country can match. Occasionally, special offers extended to CARP members may be identified as "CARP approved" or "CARP recommended." To qualify for any endorsement from CARP, advertisers partnering with ZoomerMedia undergo a thorough screening process conducted by CARP's Board of Directors..
