CARPe Diem — Seize The Day

October 3rd Scarborough CARP Event

Scarborough CARP Chapter 29 will be hosting “CARPe Diem — Seize The Day”, an Event centred around three of the cornerstones of growing older successfully: Housing, Health and Hobbies/Volunteerism. The Event will be held at the Scarborough Civic on Friday, October 3rd, from 4 – 6 pm. The Civic Centre is located at 150 Borough Drive in Scarborough, near the NW corner of McCowan and Ellesmere Roads, adjacent to the Scarborough Town Centre. There will be light refreshments, 50-50 and door prize draws, tables staffed by organizations highlighting the three cornerstones, two keynote speakers, and the musical trio “Blue Road” will perform.

There will also be an opportunity to relate your own success story by participating in a short video in our “Senior’s Moment” area. Organizations attending include Sun Life Financial, Toronto Parks & Recreation, Habitat for Humanity, Solterra, Centennial College, Toronto Council on Aging, Organizing Lives, the Toronto Police, and much, much more. There will also be a general information table where you can find ideas about various travel tours, a set of lists on topics such as book stores, hobbies, amateur musical groups, senior sports in Scarborough, and information about membership in CARP.

The Civic Centre can be accessed by public transit via the Scarborough Centre RT station, and there is ample parking in and around the Civic Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend this important and informative afternoon!
