Halton Chapter: Community Meetings in February

Information posted January 31, 2016
As many of you will already know your Halton Chapter Community meetings are gaining in popularity. Since we hold exactly the same monthly meetings in Milton we encourage anyone who can do so to please consider that as an alternative location. This meeting is held at the Milton Seniors Activity Centre which is conveniently located off Bronte Road just north of Derry Road and is an easy drive from the north Oakville or north Burlington areas. Please CLICK HERE to see a map of the Milton location.
For our February meetings will be pleased to welcome Michelle Rose from the Chartwell Retirement Residence in Oakville. Michelle graduated from Ryerson University in Gerontology and has Certification in the Administration of Long Term Care. She has worked in the health care field for 15 years in Long Term Care, Retirement Living and for Non Profit seniors organisations. She has been with the Chartwell Oakville Retirement residence for the past 2½ years. Michelle is passionate about making peoples lives better and helping them make the next transition in their lives. She will be making two presentations which are of major importance to seniors as we age. The first of these will concentrate on the “Aging Parent.” For her second presentation she will discuss the 3 levels of care; Retirement Living, Assisted Living and Long Term Care. She will conclude with a Q&A session.

Following Michelle’s first presentation there will be a break which will allow time to socialize with fellow members and to visit our sponsors.

Our  Milton meeting will be held on Wednesday February 10th, 2016 at the Seniors Activity Centre, 500 Childs Drive, Milton.

Our Burlington meeting will be held on Tuesday February 23rd, 2016 at the Seniors Centre, 2285 New Street, Burlington.

Our meetings at both locations will be held in the evening. Doors will open at 6.30pm with the main meeting taking place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Coffee and tea will be available.

Please be aware that if room capacity limits are reached we may have to restrict entrance in order to comply with building safety code regulations. Typically there is more space available at Milton.

Both meetings will begin with a short welcoming address from our Chairperson, Tom Carrothers. Tom will also provide a brief update on your CARP Halton Chapter and CARP National activities.

This will be followed by our featured presentations.

As usual we have a number of sponsors for both meetings. We will be very pleased to welcome them and to thank them for their support. They will all have tables where you will be able to chat with their representatives and pick up additional information.
