In the Wake of Progress: A New, Epic Indoor Immersive from Renowned Canadian Photographer Edward Burtynsky
Created from the powerful photographs and film of Edward Burtynsky’s 40-year career and combined with a staggering original score composed by Phil Strong, this new, epic indoor immersive experience surrounds audiences with the story of humanity’s impact on the planet, the urgency of the climate crisis and our quest for positive change. Commissioned and co-produced by Luminato Festival Toronto, In the Wake of Progress is complemented by a curated gallery show of Burtynsky’s photographs and high-resolution murals, including new and never-before-seen work, a “Change Station” which tackles the question “what can I do now?” and two powerful augmented reality (AR) experiences exploring the impact and legacy of the internal combustion engine. In the Wake of Progress challenges us to have important conversations about our legacy and the future implications of sustainable life on Earth.
