CARP CELEBRATES NATIONAL SENIORS DAY
WITH CEREMONIAL FLAG RAISING AT TORONTO CITY HALL

WHAT:
In 2011, National Seniors Day was instituted by the Federal Government to “pay tribute to the seniors who have helped build our country and continue to make valuable contributions to Canadian communities, workplaces and society.”

CARP – the 350,000-member advocacy association that works to promote and protect the interests, rights and quality of life for Canadians as they age – will raise their flag at Toronto City Hall to celebrate National Seniors Day.  CARP Chapters across Canada from St. John’s to Victoria will also host their own ceremonies.

WHERE:
Podium flagpole, Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.

WHEN:
Monday, October 1 at 12noon. The public is invited to attend.
