CARP North Bay & District Vision, Mission and Goals:

Following the Strategic Planning session of June 28, and facilitator Jeff Celentano’s resulting document, at a special Board meeting on July 17, the Board developed it’s own Vision, Mission and strategic goals for the next five years and an Operational plan for this fiscal year.

Vision: Our chapter will be recognized throughout our catchments’ area for responding to the socio-economic needs of our members. Mission: We will build an organization which identifies and responds to the needs and mutual interests of our members. We will advocate on behalf of our members in the areas of health & social services. We will provide information and education opportunities for members on emerging social, financial and health issues.

Goals: 1. Conduct a gap analysis involving other community groups to determine future direction and minimize duplication. 2. Develop a communication plan to increase the chapter profile, inform Members of issues and activities, and build linkages to government decision makers. 3. Organize information/education activities for members every year.

2007-08 Operational plan:

I. Contact six organizations to determine their vision, mission, and priority activities. Plan developed by August meeting and completed by November: Chair Anne Bell, assisted by all Board Members.

II. Develop a marketing plan to identify opportunities to add value to being a chapter member. Plan developed by August meeting identifying timeline for activities: Chair, Marc Vaillancourt, assisted by Winona Schore and Peter Hunter.

III. Organize three events to provide information and education to members in September, April/May and another to be determined: Chair Bob Lewis assisted by Ron Farrell.

IV. Develop and implement a communications plan to increase public knowledge of the chapter, keep Members informed and build linkages with politicians and stakeholders. Plan ready by August identifying timelines for activities for the remainder of the year: Chair Jacqueline Michaud, assisted by Ron Farrell.

First drafts of each plan were presented and revised at our last General meeting, August 27, 2007.

For any questions or more information please e-mail Board member(s) responsible for each plan.
