Nancy Coghill is a CARP Ambassador and part of the team at our Call Centre. In her regular columns, she offers advice on how best to work with CARP.
Has spring finally arrived? I think so, as I sit in my sunroom and watch the landscapers cleaning up their yards and the remains of a pretty tough winter. So welcome back all you snowbirds – you missed quite the weather!
Time to turn your thoughts to renewing your CARP memberships.
- It is helpful for the call centre representatives to be able to hear you loudly and clearly. So please turn down your TVs and radios before coming on the call. That eliminates background noise for us all and makes the call easier.
- Sometimes you are simply in a rush and don’t wish to wait in a queue for the phone to be answered. We have busier times of the day on the phones. May I suggest that early mornings are the least busy time and you most often will call right through without any wait at all. The earlier the better. We open at 8AM EST.
We know you west coast folk would find that difficult. But if you have to wait a few minutes, please be patient, we are busy helping other CARP members like yourself.
- We honour VISA, AMEX or MASTERCARD and take a personal cheque. We cannot take a debit card. When mailing a cheque, please allow three-to-four weeks from the time of mailing for it to be processed.
Our mailing address for cheques is:
TAMI – 8799 Highway 89, Alliston, Ontario L9R 1V1.
Personally I think using a credit card is the easiest and fastest option. Either renew online or give us a call at 1-833-211-2277.
- Come to the call prepared! Bring a pen and paper with you in case you wish to write down something for future reference. Perhaps a phone number or your new expiry date or even the Call Centre Ambassador’s name. Who knows? We may say something very interesting!
That about wraps it up for now. Stay tuned for more pointers next month.
PLEASE NOTE: In the case of any postal disruption, renewals should be done online.
