In search of Canada’s perfect pension plan

This is a tall order, but we have done it before.

In 1997, the provinces and federal government overcame considerable differences to hammer out a major overhaul of the Canada Pension Plan.

The more we can create frameworks that allow Canadians to fund their own retirements, the less of a burden we leave to future generations, who as taxpayers will have to care for anyone unable to care for themselves.
