– Growing the membership each organization is exploring new and innovative mechanisms for member acquisitions and enhancing the value proposition of membership.
– Expanding revenue generating opportunities through advertisement revenue (print and digital); royalty revenue, grants, sponsorships, etc.
– Increasing advocacy at the national, regional and local level. – Encouraging community-based initiatives, including increased volunteer opportunities.
– Committing to cross-promoting member events and creating unique opportunities for social networking amongst our members.
– Supporting initiatives such as the AARP International Innovation Employer Award (IIEA) program (as CARP has for the past two years) that focuses on recognizing employers who have demonstrated innovative workforce practices that address issues relevant to an older workforce.
On the policy and advocacy front the issues that are high on the list of most of the member organizations are:

– Caregiving
– Elderly care and abuse
– Mobility/accessibility
– Pension reform/Economic security
– Challenging mandatory retirement laws and regulations

CARP has benefited greatly from its participation in the AGN, and we are pleased that it has weathered the storm and emerged as a stronger and more focused Network. It will become an increasingly important resource for the partner organizations and for our respective members internationally.
