ChapterAGM – Management Committee:

Ted Bruin, membership chair, Jim Clark, treasurer and computer guru, and Ken Laramie, publicity chair, have all relinquished their positions as their 3 year term of office on the management committee expired in June. I thank them for their kindness and invaluable assistance in helping a very green chapter chair. Greg Metrakos, and Peggy Shippee have volunteered to serve on the management committee. Greg is taking on two positions, Publicity, and Membership. Peggy Shippee and Ruth Watkins will look after the coffee and refreshments after the meeting. Thank you for coming forward, to help run the chapter. Rick Evans, and Shobha Ahuja who was to be our new treasurer, are not able to serve on the management committee. Jim Clark our former treasurer, has agreed to continue in that post in the interim.

CALL FOR ADDED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP EXPAND THE HALTON CHAPTER:

We urgently need two volunteers to serve on the 9 member management committee. The management committee meets on the first Wed. of the month excepting Dec. The treasurer should have some knowledge of spreadsheets, and statements. Our annual budget is quite small and I am sure Jim will help the new treasurer get started.

50/50 Draw: My apology to the lucky winner, but I neglected to record the name, and the amount. This month there is an additional door prize donated by Crush of Niagara Wine Tours.

The Canada Revenue Agency warns Canadians of mail scam

The letter is not from the CRA. A PDF version of the letter is available on the CRA Web site at www.cra.gc.ca/alert. The CRA has notified the proper law enforcement authorities of this scam.
