Age Friendly Community Project

It’s not too late if you would like to participate in a series of Focus Groups being held in Oakville to gather input from local seniors on health and active aging in the community.

Halton Region with the assistance of their Elder Services Advisory Committee wants to hear from local seniors about their thoughts on Age Friendly Communities.

The age friendly project will look at eight aspects of community living: outdoor spaces and buildings; transportation; housing; social participation; respect and social inclusion; civic participation and employment; communication and information; and community support and health services. The objective is to develop recommendations for age friendly communities that can be shared with Regional Council and the Halton community.

Focus groups will be held as follows:

Nov. 5, 10am to noon, Maple Grove United Church.
Nov, 8 and 22nd, 1.30-2.30pm, St Paul’s United Church.

To participate in a Focus group please contact Halton Region at 905 825 6000 or toll free at 1 866 442 5866.
