Social Evening a Great Success

The volunteers of the Halton Chapter who organized the social evening on November 23rd would like to thank all members and their friends for coming out and making the evening such a great success. We would also like to thank everyone for bringing a non-perishable food item which will be distributed to a local food bank.

We would also like to thank John Romano of the Better Bitters Brewing Co. which is located in Burlington for providing the beer tasting and Aidan Parnell for entertaining us with his music.

After brief welcoming remarks from our Chapter Chair, Tom Carrothers, the evening got underway with everyone enjoying the light entertainment and friendship.

John Romano started things off with samples of his beer while also giving an enthusiastic and lighthearted insight not only into his products but also into the beer and wine industry in general. Aidan Purnell’s style of music and large repertoire of songs that he had tailored to meet our needs provided a pleasant easy listening backdrop as light refreshments were served. You can find out more about Aidan by visiting his website at CLICK HERE

The centerpiece on each table was a lovely poinsettia which came from Flowers Flowers who are located at 2201 Brant St. in Burlington. Anyone sitting in a specially marked chair got to take one of these home as the evening came to a close.

The cheese, fruit and desert trays were provided by the Halton Chapter. There were a few items left at the end of the evening and these were donated to Carpenter Hospice.

We hope to see you again throughout the coming year at one of our normal monthly meetings which are usually held on the fourth Tuesday of the month and will resume in the New Year. Mark your calendars for the next meeting which will be held on January 25th, 2011. Look for announcements of future meetings on this website and those for whom we have the contact information will also receive notification via email.

As usual we would like to hear from you. If you have ideas on things you would like to see included in our monthly meetings or if you too would like to volunteer please get in touch via email to [email protected]
