Susan Eng’s Interview with Jane Brown: Poverty and Seniors

A new report indicates that seniors’ poverty has jumped nearly 25% between 2007 and 2008. This is no surprise to CARP, by and large this is what our research has been indicating and it echoes what we’ve been telling Governments who insist they have “solved” the issue. On November 25th, 2010 Jane Brown of the New AM740 asked Susan Eng for her thoughts on the report. In these clips, she explains why poverty among older Canadians is still a serious problem and refutes the popular misconception that all seniors have been lifted out of poverty by government pensions and supplements.
