Canadian Health Care in Perspective
Yesterday I pointed out that Canadian Medicare looks much more sustainable than our system. But how good is their system, eh? Well, the Commonwealth Fund does regular surveys of health system performance on a variety of indicators; the latest is here (pdf).
The summary table:
There are better systems out there (and I wish the Commonwealth people could get France in). But Canadian health care is roughly comparable in quality to US care, except that everyone is covered — and it does so at far lower cost.
