Turning our Money into Green Jobs

Now turning to that Ontario Liberal press release and the reputed former Premier Harris’s “break” with current PC leader Tim Hudak and his conversion to McGuinty’s energy policy we find that it is related to his position as Chairman of Magna. One of the connections claimed is that Magna have leased an idled auto parts plant (presumably) in Tillsonburg to Samsung where they will manufacture turbine blades. That seems a somewhat tenuous claim to say that Harris has broken ranks with his party however with the Liberals trailing badly in the polls they are doing all they can to claim their energy policies are taking us in the right direction and winning converts.

With per job subsidies of $2.5-million in the latest announcement being paid by ratepayers the Liberals will need to do a lot to convert those 4.6 million voters. Most of us are still digesting the fact that electricity rates will rise by at least 46% over the next 5 years after having endured increases of 100% since the Liberals came to power in 2003.
