Gearing Up for the Fall

GEARING UP FOR THE FALL

Thanks again to Constable Bruce Cole – our very first Speaker.

Your Board hopes you are enjoying the “hazy days” of summer. We have been busy organizing a Fall menu and hope you will join us to enjoy the results of our efforts.

Remember these dates:

TRAVELOGUE

• August 30th – in August we are offering a “Tantalizing Travelogue” to whet your travelling appetite. We have reserved the main foyer in the City’s Administration Building, 50 Dickson Street, downtown Cambridge (Galt). We will have the pleasure of hearing presentations from the following travel agencies: Cambridge Travel; Expedia Cruise Ships and Cherry Bus Lines.

The program will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and there will be an intermission as well as time to ask questions and browse the displays provided by the presenters.

VOLUNTEER FAIR

• September 24th – in September we hope to be involved in the Volunteer Fair at the Cambridge Mall. We’ll get details to you later, but this will be an opportunity to introduce CARP to friends who may be interested in joining our Chapter.

MEET THE CANDIDATES

• September 26th – on September 26th, we are hosting a “Meet the Candidates” event which will be attended by the Provincial Candidates running for election in October. This will be held at Fairview Mennonite Seniors’ Home, 515 Langs Drive, and there will be a question and answer format .

We are looking for six topical questions which will be forwarded to the Candidates in advance giving them a chance to prepare. Do you have a question you think would fit the bill. If so, please send it in to [email protected] and we will be picking the best to send to the Candidates. Our M.C. will be Allan Ramsay, and the moderator will be Dr. Mike Lawrie.

K-W CHAPTER 25

• K-W Chapter 25 – September 13th – we thought you might like to be made aware that the Kitchener-Waterloo Chapter 25 program includes a session on Dying with Dignity, Canadians’ voice for choice at the end of life, which they are holding at St. George’s Hall on September 13th. Our members are welcome to attend.
