Always Wanted to Get a Little More Exercise? Need a Great Way to Get Started? Read On….

Winter, or at least what we had of it, is almost over.  As we all look forward to the better weather many of us are thinking about getting a little more exercise. We all know that exercise has many health benefits but just need a catalyst to get us started.

But what should we do? Where should we begin?

For our March 27th Community meeting we will be suggesting one very good option. We have invited Nordixx Pole Walking Canada to present the health and fitness benefits of Nordic Pole Walking. They will also sponsor our meeting along with The Running Company.

To learn more about the benefits of this increasingly popular activity, be sure to join us for what we expect will be both a fun and informative evening. Usual place usual time, 7.00pm to 9.00pm at the Burlington Seniors Centre, 2285 New Street.

The meeting is open to everyone in Halton Region and is not intended to be for Burlington residents only.

Doors will open at 6.30pm and the meeting will take place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm.

Light refreshments, coffee, tea and cookies will be available.

We will begin with a welcoming address from our Chairperson, Tom Carrothers.

Tom will also provide an update on your CARP Halton Chapter and CARP National activities.

This will be followed by our featured speaker, Ginger Quinn, from Nordixx Canada who will both explain and demonstrate walking with Nordic Poles. Participation will be encouraged.

What is Nordic Pole Walking?

Nordic Pole Walking has been proven to be a catalyst in health and wellness, validated through many scientific and clinical studies.

For more information please go to their website by clicking on the link beside their logo above.

Nordic Pole Walking is a most effective low-impact exercise that shows the highest benefits for health, wellness and fitness for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Nordic Walking Poles differ from hiking or ski poles. Using Nordic Walking Poles, they enable you to incorporate more than 90% of all your body muscles.

You can become a Nordic Pole Walker and instantly experience outstanding health and fitness benefits.

Millions of Europeans use Nordic Pole walking for health, fitness and social enjoyment. Statistics show that Nordic Pole Walking is the fastest growing outdoor activity around the globe.

We are also pleased to announce that we will also be joined at this meeting by the Friends of Bronte Creek who, along with our sponsors, will have display tables where you will be able to chat with their representatives and pick up additional information.

Following a few closing remarks from Tom and the 50/50 draw the meeting will close at 9.00pm.

There is no charge to attend this meeting. Everyone is welcome. Members bring a friend. Support your local chapter

We look forward to seeing you there.

In addition to the Tuesday meeting there will also be a free outdoor training session to help you get started. This will be held in Shell Park, Oakville,  at 9.45am on Saturday March 31st. The entrance to Shell Park is approximately 300m East of Great lakes Boulevard on Lakeshore Road West. We will meet in the carpark immediately on the right as you enter the park. Poles will be provided.
