1st Annual General Meeting
The 1st Annual General Meeting of the CARP St. James Assiniboia Chapter 47 was held on May 16, 2012 at the Anavets Assiniboia Unit #283 Hall (3584 Portage Avenue). The afternoon included Election of the 2012 – 2013 Board Members, guest speaker, Sinda Cathcart. Special Assistant to Jim Rodeau, Minister of Healthy Living, Seniors & Consumer Affairs, Slide Show Presentation of the 2011 MSOS 55+ Games and refreshments.
55-Plus Games
Representatives from the CARP St. James Assiniboia Chapter 47 will be participating in the MB Lotteries 55+ Games in Arborg, MB from June 12 – 14/12. This will be the first year for the Active Living Coalition for Older Adults in Manitoba (ALCOA-MB) to organize the games which promote the benefits of healthy active living for older Manitobans.

Advocacy Committee
Chapter 47 has formed a new Advocacy Committee. Current issues of concern that were discussed at the AGM include:
- Cellphone Contracts
- Vehicle Repairs
- Fraud Alert
- Life Leases Act

CARP Across Manitoba
Orphaned MSOS Councils and Clubs, and new and long-time CARP members are invited to stay active with CARP Chapters.
