November Social Evenings at Milton and Burlington

Once again your CARP Halton Chapter volunteers have organised a Social evening for your enjoyment as we look forward to the Holiday season. As many of you will already know we are now holding our regular monthly meetings in both Milton and Burlington. We are therefore planning a Social evening at both locations.

Our Social evening in Milton will be held on Wednesday November 14th from 6.30pm to 9.00pm at the Milton Seniors Activity Centre, 500 Childs Drive, Milton.

Our Social evening in Burlington will be held on Tuesday November 27th from 6.30pm to 9.00pm at the Burlington Seniors Centre, 2285 New Street, Burlington

Please come and join us, meet your Chapter volunteers and fellow members and their friends. Share in an evening of fun and entertainment. Enjoy the light hearted presentations that will give you interesting ideas for the Holiday Season.

These Social evenings at both locations are for all CARP members and their friends. If you are not able to join us at one location please consider joining us at the other.

There will be a small charge of $5.00 which includes a ticket to win one of the several door prizes donated by local merchants. Please also bring a non-perishable food itemwhich will be donated to the Salvation Army’s Food Bank.

Doors will open at both locations at 6.30pm. Our Social Evening will begin at 7.00pm and end at 9.00pm

Highlights:

• Welcome and opening remarks from our Chair Tom Carrothers

• The Chef from the Chartwell Classic Oakville Retirement Residence will demonstrate their unique perspective on the preparation of Christmas food.

• The Salvation Army will join us and talk about the growing needs for their services across Halton Region. They will talk about the the importance of community work and volunteering in the Region of Halton to help those in need, particularly during the holiday season.

• We will welcome Aidan Purnell who will entertain us with his easy listening style of music.

• Listen Up Canada will be available to discuss hearing related issues and to answer any question about hearing loss that you may have.

• In addition to our 50/50 draw there will be a special draw for door prizes ranging in value from $10.00 to $150.00+ that have been donated by the following local businesses. You will also have the opportunity to buy more draw tickets to increase your chances of winning a great prize.

As in the past for our November social evenings, we are charging a $5.00 admittance fee which includes a ticket  to win one of the several door prizes donated by local merchants.

Light snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the evening which will be provided by Chartwell Classic Oakville.

In addition to the above Holland Park Garden Gallery will join us at the Burlington meeting and will be demonstrating how to create interesting Christmas decorations from readily available materials.

Our sponsors will have display tables and we encourage you to visit them and obtain additional information about the products and services they have to offer.

Following the prize draw our evening will end around 9.00pm with a few closing remarks from Tom.
