Dr. Klaus Schwanbeck presented strategies for staying active

Carleton Place, Ontario – On Wednesday, September 25th at 7:00 pm at the Carembeck Community Centre, 351 Bridge Street, Carleton Place, the Lanark Chapter 55 of CARP sponsored a presentation by Dr. Klaus Schwanbeck about how moderate physical activity and healthy nutrition maintains physical and mental vitality, a message relevant to all ages but particularly important as you age.

Healthy living means making choices to improve your health. Active living is doing physical activity in order to improve your fitness level. Dr. Schwanbeck will inspire you to become or stay active and educate you about an easy way to be active. The presentation covers the importance of metabolism for physical and mental fitness. He talks about how exercise and nutrition can help you avoid the epidemic of chronic diseases. Over 30 people attended and heard the important message that it is never too late to realize benefits from moderate exercise.

Dr. Schwanbeck is President of Nordixx Pole Walking Canada Inc., which he founded in May 2010. He holds a Master of Physical Education and Training Sciences and a Doctorate in System Theory and Communication. He was head coach of Germany’s national track and field team. Dr. Schwanbeck has a passion for helping people improve their health and fitness and we are excited that he shared his expertise with us.

This special presentation was free to CARP members and $5.00 for non-members. Nordixx Pole Walking Canada offered pole-walking equipment for sale before and after the event.
