Health Tips for Seniors: Are You Up-To-Date?

Dr. Brown will present the most current information for Seniors about prevention, immunization, risk modification, menopause and andropause. 

Dr. Vivien Brown is a highly respected Toronto family physician, international speaker and medical award winner and Vice-President, Medical Affairs, Medisys Corporate Health.  Dr. Brown has achieved numerous prestigious national and international awards:

•          2012, the College of Family Physicians of Ontario “Physician of the Year for the Region of Toronto”.

•          2011, Physician of the Year by KMH, an international diagnostic facility.

•          2009, Enid Johnson McLeod Award from the Federation of Medical Women of Canada.

 Educated at McGill University, she is currently Assistant Professor, Department of Family & Community Medicine, University of Toronto. Representing Family Medicine in Canada, she serves the Board of Immunize Canada, teaching the public about the importance of immunization. Currently she also is a valued board member of the Women’s Brain Health Initiative, educating Canadians about brain health.

 Dr. Brown is the Toronto Branch President of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, linking female physicians, students and residents throughout the country.

As a NAMS certified Menopause Practitioner, Dr. Brown is an expert in Menopause. Her major interests are in the area of health promotion and prevention for women and continuing medical education. As a celebrated lecturer on preventative medicine and implementation issues around vaccination, Dr. Brown recognizes the challenges for seniors as they age and the importance of prevention to sustain a healthy life.
