Volunteer Driver

Habitat for Humanity Mississauga is currently seeking Volunteer Drivers to pick up donated materials to the ReStore and deliver sold items to customer homes. This support allows HFH Mississauga to raise funds to cover the affiliates operational costs and build homes in the Mississauga community for families in need. This person must drive a 5 tonne cube van in a safe manner, assist with loading and unloading heavy merchandise (minimum 50 lbs.) in all weather conditions, document and verify items picked up, assist with training of new Volunteer Drivers and Driver Assistants when needed, and more. Required qualifications include possession of a valid G license with a clean driving record and drivers abstract, provide proof of insurance and a police reference check, ability to work with a team or independently, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to effectively communicate with customers, donors and HFH Mississauga staff members and volunteers. Time commitment is minimum 1 shift of four hours per week (minimum 6 month commitment). Volunteer General Help

Habitat for Humanity Mississauga is currently seeking volunteers to fill the role of General Help. This role is to provide assistance in the ReStore with loading and unloading of merchandise off trucks as well as set up displays of kitchens. This support allows HFH Mississauga to raise funds to cover the affiliates operational costs and build homes in the Mississauga community for families in need. This person must provide direct support with merchandise, loading and unloading trucks, set up kitchens and/or other large items for display in the ReStore, able to respond to customer inquiries regarding merchandise when needed, train and provide support to all new volunteers as required, and more. Required skills include ability to work with a team or independently, willing to take initiative, be physically fit and be able to left and unload heavy items (50 lbs), good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with customers, HFH Mississauga staff members and volunteers. Time commitment is minimum 1 shift of four hours per week (minimum 6 month commitment).
