National Seniors’ Day and the International Day of the Older Person will be recognized in Brampton Oct. 1 with a flag raising ceremony, followed by refreshments.

Everyone is invited to the ceremony in Ken Whillans Square in front of Brampton City Hall at 9:30 a.m.

The school choir from St. Mary’s Catholic School will perform. Brampton CARP (formerly known as Canadian Association of Retired Persons) board of directors members and Mayor Linda Jeffrey will be in attendance.

Refreshments sponsored by Greenway Retirement Village will follow.
