Nuisance calls, unsolicited calls, we have all been plagued by telemarketing calls just as you are about to sit down to dinner! There is some good news to report on unsolicited calls.

The CRTC released a decision today to better protect the privacy of Canadians by reducing the number of unsolicited and illegitimate calls, also known as nuisance calls, that they receive.

Telecommunications service providers must develop technical solutions to block illegitimate nuisance calls within their networks, and report back to the Commission with their findings within 90 days of this decision.

These solutions will ensure a minimum level of protection for all Canadians. Please see the news release for more information.
