Marissa Lennox on Canada’s need to “do better for our seniors” on multiple fronts

In a recent column, CARP Chief Policy Officer Marissa Lennox shared her perspective on how governments need to go beyond making critical improvements to long-term care, placing equal focus on meeting seniors’ care needs at home.

“While the necessity for modern and comfortable buildings, adequate staffing, and basics, such as personal protective equipment in our current homes should be minimum requirements, we must also ask ourselves, does Ontario need 15,000 more long-term care spaces, or do we need to do everything we can do to keep 15,000 seniors where they want to be, at home?”
