Canada needs an affordable, accessible Universal Pension Plan

Incremental change is not an option – not least because this economic downturn has reached deep and wide and has exposed the flaws in the existing pension regulatory regime. Now, people with “guaranteed” pensions find common cause with those watching their RRSPs evaporate. And both of them can empathize with those who don’t even have retirement savings to worry about.

It’s time for bold political leadership to give us all an even chance of spending our retirement counting our money instead of counting the days.
