A new web portal will be established to help centralize access to health program information. This will include an automated income verification process for those benefit programs whose eligibility criteria include income.

The budget papers list all the changes made in last year’s budget that take effect in 2010 including the increased property tax credit with the differential for seniors as well as the SeniorHomeowners Property Tax Grant.

So the bottom line for older Ontarians is that there were few proposals in Budget 2010 that address our particular concerns and nothing at all to relieve the new HST tax burden on home energy costs – unless you live in Northern Ontario or want to move there.
