Some examples of issues undertaken by CARP’s Calgary chapter:

– Lobbying the City of Calgary on “excessive fees” to seniors in areas such as transit, property assessments and utility costs.

– Lobbying the provincial government to eliminate the property education tax for older adults, as well as maintaining health care benefits, improving standards for long-term care and assisting home care providers.

– Raising healthcare issues with Alberta Health Services and the provincial government;

– Keeping members informed about political issues that might affect them.
