Halton Chapter AGM a Rousing Success

As we have noted our Chapter activities are organized by a group of dedicated volunteers who through their energy and commitment ensure our Chapter has a role to play on behalf of seniors in our community. With this AGM two of those volunteers, Doug Madden and Helen Sladden, will be leaving our group. On behalf of everyone Tom Carrothers recognized their significant contribution to the Chapter over the past two years with the presentation of a parting gift. Thank you Helen and Doug for all of your hard work.

In his closing remarks Tom emphasized one of the key points noted by all of our speakers. With numbers like these CARP has a voice for seniors in our community. Please support your Chapter as we plan for our 2011/2012 season which will begin in September. Please consider helping. To wrap things up tickets were drawn for the remaining door prizes plus the 50/50 draw. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets with the lucky winner taking home $176. With that the meeting came to a very successful conclusion.
