Hopes for health care renewal still not realized

“50+ Canadians are not going to applaud this incremental improvement -they are more demanding and more impatient than that,” says Susan Eng, CARP’s Vice President for Advocacy. “And while some might think that catastrophic illness will never strike them, caring for ageing parents affects everyone.”

“And how can we be expected to rely exclusively on the public system when it cannot even institute electronic records – a standard in many European jurisdictions?” Eng adds.

While public support for ongoing investments in these areas remains strong, the Health Council Report expresses concern that government commitment is waning.
