The Canadian Red Cross disaster services team needs volunteers!

Each year Canadian Red Cross volunteers help millions of Canadians prevent and respond to small and large-scale disasters. Volunteers play an important role in educating communities about how to be better prepared for all emergency situations.

“The Red Cross relies on the dedication and skill of volunteers to help those in need when disaster strikes,” says Tom Windebank, a disaster services manager for the Red Cross and a CARP member.

The Red Cross is currently looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers from CARP to join its Disaster Management team. Volunteers who are available once or twice a week during regular working hours (Mon-Fri between 8am and 6pm) are particularly needed. Retirees are very welcome.

If you like making a positive impact in your community and enjoy learning new skills, being challenged and working with a team, the Red Cross would like to hear from you. You will be trained by the Red Cross before you respond to any disaster situations, large or small, and you will always be with other Red Cross volunteers or staff.
