Kerby Centre is a multipurpose seniors’ centre serving older adults 55 years of age and up. The Centre provides service to over 30,000 seniors and their families. Programs and services are holistic in nature addressing the physical, educational, mental, emotional and social health needs of older adults.
Services provided by the centre include:
Information and advocacy, Housing information, Wellness Centre, Adult Day program, Shelter for abused seniors, educational and exercise programs, social and recreational programs, grocery shopping for isolated seniors, Dining room, and Research into healthy and successful aging.

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
- 1. Grocery Delivery Program
Do you like to shop until you dropÿ
If so this volunteer position is for you. Someone with a kind heart and a vehicle is needed to shop and deliver groceries to frail isolated seniors. You can become part of a team that helps seniors and make it possible for these seniors to stay in their homes longer.
Hours are flexible 2. Receptionist
Are you one of those outgoing individuals who enjoys talking to older adults and making them feel specialÿ
We have an opportunity to assist with receptionist duties on a casual basis. You will need to answer phones, direct calls and assist those asking for help. 3. Special events volunteer
Are you the life of the party and enjoy being with peopleÿ
We are seeking fun loving individuals to help with special events throughout the year such as conferences, special celebrations, fundraising events, the Kerby Trade Fair and the CPO concerts.
You can volunteer for one event or all events. 4. Dining Room volunteer
Do you have a creative desire to be a pastry chef, decorate a cake or expand your skills in the kitchenÿ
This might be the place for you. We are looking for motivated friendly people to display their culinary skills and assist with our cooking program. You will need to be available mornings on a flexible basis.
