HELPING SECURE YOUR CPP BENEFITS FOR THE NEXT 75 YEARS AND BEYOND

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board 2010 Public Meetings Schedule

The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) helps sustain the future pensions of 17 million CPP contributors and beneficiaries by investing CPP assets. For the past eleven years, the CPP Investment Board has helped fund future CPP benefits by:

• Managing the $130 billion portfolio that is expected to grow to $275 billion within ten years

• Making investment decisions at arm’s length from governments, while maintaining strong public sector accountability to the federal and provincial finance ministers who serve as stewards of the CPP

• Broadly diversifying the CPP portfolio to include public and private equities, fixed income, real estate and infrastructure in Canada and abroad

We encourage CARP’s local chapters to attend the upcoming CPPIB biennial public meetings in their local area to hear CPPIB Chair of the Board Bob Astley and CPPIB President and CEO David Denison discuss how CPPIB is managing one of the world’s fastest growing pools of investment capital, and helping to sustain the long-term health of the CPP – the foundation of retirement security for 17 million Canadians.
