MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

The municipal elections are in full swing with advance polls already being held and signs springing up like dandelions in the springtime. We strongly encourage you to carefully consider the candidates running in your municipality and ward and what they can do to address Seniors’ issues. We are a large voting group and if we all get out and vote we can have a meaningful impact on our community. In the article below we present the responses we received from the candidates running for mayor in the municipalities of Halton. We were disappointed in that only 5 candidates responded. Those 5 indicated an awareness of Seniors’ issues and ideas on addressing them. Those whose names do not show up leave us the impression that they do not consider Senior issues to be of importance and by inference the senior vote is not important.

We look forward to working with the elected representatives over the next 4 years to make the lives of seniors better within Halton.
