South Okanagan Symposium October 20th 2010

You can learn more about advocacy for seniors at the 19th Annual Seniors Symposium, organized by the South Okanagan Seniors Wellness Society, on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.
The symposium theme is “Enhancing the Quality of Life”. The Okanagan Valley CARP will have Susan Eng, the CARP National Advocacy Vice-President discuss what CARP is involved with. Geoff White, well known as a BC Elders Advocate and is on the CARP Okanagan Board of Advisors, will be addressing some of our local issues. The presentation is at 11:00am and is free.
Doors are open for the Seniors Symposium from 9:00am to 4:00pm. There are over 100 exhibitors, along with entertainment throughout the day. A raffle will be on for great prizes from Expedia CruiseShipCentre and Sun Fun Tours along with a gift package from Get Ben Yoga. Interior Health will also be holding their annual flu clinic during the Symposium for easier access for seniors.
