Distress Centres is Canada’s oldest continuous helpline service. Distress Centres provides 24-hour emotional support, crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to individuals in need across Toronto. We’re looking for volunteer distress and crisis helpline responders, as well as volunteers to provide face-to-face counselling to individuals and families impacted by suicide or homicide. Emotional maturity, good listening and communication skills and relevant life experiences are important. Comprehensive training is provided.
