Shelly Glover, MP, Meets The Power Of Twitter

Our government has delivered more for seniors than any other government in Canadian history.

Anita Neville wrote to CARP to speak directly to members about the incident:

“I want CARP members to know that I firmly believe that this sort of ageist slur is unacceptable and insulting to the millions of Canadian seniors living active and productive lives, who continue to contribute to the Canadian economy by staying in the workforce – whether by choice or because they have to in order to make ends meet.

The Liberal Party of Canada values these important contributions, which is why we are making the concerns of seniors one of our top priorities during this campaign, and why we are committed to helping them live out their years in dignity through policies like pension reforms and family care benefits.

As the Opposition Critic for the Status of Women, I have personally advocated in Parliament for additional supports and resources, like a federal affordable housing strategy, to improve economic security for senior women.

For Ms. Glover to refer to me in this way is a slur against all seniors. On their behalf I demand an apology.”

We will continue to follow this story as it unfolds!
