ALL Candidates contesting the riding of South Surrey White Rock Cloverdale have been invited to attend this public forum. First, the candidates will be asked to respond to four questions given to them in advance. The floor will then be opened to questions from the audience.

You will have the opportunity to hear from the candidates and learn about each party’s position on the various issues that matter to you. Come to meet the Candidates and bring your questions. Everyone is WELCOME! CARP has prepared the following three questions to ask to the candidates:

1. We have a rapidly aging society. If there aren’t significant measures taken to address this trend now, our society will encounter major problems relating to healthcare, pension plans, social services, government revenue, shrinking tax base and intergenerational issues. What will your party do to respond to this trend and these issues?

2. Canadians are not saving enough for their retirement and 2/3rds of all working Canadians do not have a workplace pension. CARP has called for a universal supplementary pension plan to help people save for their retirement. What will your party do to address the retirement security concerns of Canadians to ensure that no senior today lives in poverty?

3. The environment got very short shrift at the televised leaders debate. Yet CARP members consistently demonstrate through our polling that they have concerns about our deteriorating environment and the environmental legacy they leave for their children and grandchildren. What will your party do in this mandate to curb the destruction of our environment and invest in alternative energy sources?

COME OUT AND PARTICIPATE!
