Bill VanGorder was an avid runner until he got to be about 65.
That was when his knees decided they didn’t like running quite as much as he did.
Looking to get his heart rate up to a comparable level, but in a way that was easier on his joints and knees, VanGorder discovered Nordic walking. Extremely popular in Europe, this type of walking with two “poles” was originally designed to help keep cross country skiers fit during the off season.
