An article from the Fall 2011 Ajax Pickering CARP Newsletter.

Welcome to the first issue of our quarterly newsletter!  The goal is to keep you informed and active with our local chapter by communicating to you key events and happenings in our local community.  As a new Chapter, we are off to a great start highlighted by our meeting with Moses Znaimer on October 4, 2011. We have also already established interest groups for community linkages, health and lifestyle advocacy, and a benefits group working with local businesses.

Our Seasonal newsletter will include content from the community around themes such as “What’s Coming Up?” and “Did You Know?”   As an example, in this edition, we are highlighting some great local library capabilities for zoomers who cannot get to the library as well as an invitation to attend a seminar on “Retirement Planning for Women.”  Recent announcements regarding enhanced health services will be posted as well under the “Did You Know” umbrella.

Our featured article is from Richard Atkinson, author and local CARP member, who wrote the book “Don’t Just Retire – Live It and Love It!”

As we are all volunteers, we are always looking for you to step forward with ideas, thoughts and participation so don’t be shy and contact us.  We look forward to hearing from you!
