Halton Chapter Speaks at Georgetown Retired Men's Luncheon

Article posted October 22, 2011

Your Halton Chapter had the privilege of speaking to a retired men’s luncheon in Georgetown on October 13. Chairperson Tom Carrothers discussed the history of CARP, its advocacy initiatives and benefits program both as a national organization and at the Halton Chapter level. There were 91 people in attendance with everyone having a great social time and meeting old and new friends. We were excited to participate with this informed and knowledgeable group of people and to share with them our Chapter’s accomplishments and goals for the future.

Those attending seemed very interested in what Halton Chapter are trying to achieve and are eager for the Chapter to start holding meetings in the northern portion of Halton Region. Tom made the point that the Chapter would be pleased to hold meetings in both the Halton Hills and Milton areas.  Basically we would accomplish this by duplicating the agenda of the meetings we currently hold in Burlington. If we are to do this however we need a few volunteers to help co-ordinate the meetings.
