Leading the Way to Retirement Security and Ageing at Home: CARP Recommendations to British Columbia

In November 2011 CARP published a new set of recommendations in a submission to the government of British Columbia.  The paper/brief addresses issues like retirement insecurity and how it can be addressed through measures like CPP enhancement, income tax and savings reform as well increases to income supports.  We examine current trends in the depth of poverty among seniors and the savings gap that currently exist among Canadians.  We also provide details on the cautions to be taken in order to protect PRPPs from falling prey to the same problems experienced in other countries.  Finally, CARP examines and makes recommendations on issues pertaining to ageing at home like homecare and caregiving.  To read the paper, please click here
