Halton Fresh Food Box provides fresh, healthy foods and could save you money.

The following is quoted from the Halton Fresh Food Box website and from their promotional material.

Halton Fresh Food Box provides quality fruits and vegetables at great prices.

Halton Fresh Food Box, a not for profit community based healthy eating program, makes it easy to save money by offering fresh in-season fruits and vegetables at an affordable price.

Each month produce is purchased directly from local farmers and food distributors.

Orders are taken and paid for in advance (cash only) at one of their drop sites.

Drop sites are located throughout Halton Region in Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills.

A small box costs $13 and a regular box costs $17.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are purchased using a bulk-buying system, which ensures that the box costs less than the same food purchased at a low cost grocery store.

The more orders the greater the buying power and the better the variety of food in your box.

Volunteers sort and pack the food into clean, reusable boxes.

Boxes are sent to the drop site where they are picked up at the arranged time and date.

We know of CARP members in Halton who use this service and are delighted with the variety and quality of the food provided.
