Program: Protect Yourself! Frauds and Scams
Presented by the BC Centre For Elder Advocacy Support, the program deals with frauds, scams, identity theft and telemarketing. It includes topics such as common scams targeting older adults, identity theft and strategies to protect personal information as well as methods for dealing with telephone solicitors.

• Frauds and Scams are among the fastest growing crimes in Canada today.
• More than 50% of identity theft cases involve fraudulent credit card transactions.
• Victims of identity theft spend 20 million hours and over 150 million dollars in out of pocket expenses each year to recover their identity.
Refreshments will be served.
CARP members from other areas and the general public are welcome to attend. There is no charge.
